America’s First PTSD-Informed Collaborative
For Veterans, Families, and Communities

THE CHALLENGE: PTSD - AN INVISIBLE BATTLE

PTSD is a neurological injury that impacts brain function, emotional regulation, relationships, work, and daily life.

Veterans and Families not only carry the weight of trauma itself, but often face isolation, disconnection, and fragmented care systems that make recovery even more challenging. Far too many are left to navigate trauma alone. We know — because we’ve lived it.

While national attention often focuses on Veteran suicide, GOTURSIX leverages action with intention to rewire the brain, restore confidence, and reclaim life after PTSD.

OUR SOLUTION: HELLBENDER THIRD SPACE - IMMERSIVE HEALING THROUGH ACTION

GOTURSIX challenges the old models that leave too many Veterans behind. We are not a clinic. We are not a housing project. We are a PTSD-informed collaborative Third Space — an immersive, science-backed environment where Veterans, Families, and Communities engage in purpose-driven activities, professional coaching, and mental health support — all built on trust and the power of neuroscience.

Be Seen. Be Heard. Be Valued.

no shame - no judgment - no isolation

Be You.

WHY OUR MODEL WORKS: THE NEUROSCIENCE OF HEALING AFTER TRAUMA

At GOTURSIX, every activity inside our Hellbender Third Space is intentionally designed to help Veterans and Families rebuild brain health, emotional regulation, and connection. The science is clear: healing happens through action.

Immersive activity connects to:

  • Neuroplasticity: Purpose-driven tasks like woodworking, gardening, and foraging help form new, healthy brain pathways that rebuild confidence, executive function, and decision-making skills.

  • Stress Regulation: Working with our hands, breathing in fresh air, and engaging in rhythmic outdoor activities like hiking and disc golf stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system — calming hypervigilance and promoting peace.

  • Reward & Motivation: Completing projects, learning new skills, and seeing progress activate dopamine, which directly counteracts the emotional flatness and hopelessness often experienced with PTSD.

  • Social Safety: Peer-to-peer coaching, community service, and shared meals foster safe relationships that activate oxytocin, reduce isolation, and rebuild trust — critical factors in long-term healing and suicide prevention.

  • Whole-Brain Healing: Our combination of trauma-informed coaching, nature-based programs, and skill-building taps into the latest science of how the brain heals from trauma.

Launched in 2024, the Hellbender Third Space honors the resilient spirit of Veterans and Families through our namesake — the Ozark Hellbender Giant Salamander, an endangered species that survives against great odds. Like the Hellbender, those we serve deserve the space, tools, and support to explore their purpose.
