“VETERAN OF THE RIVER”
THE ENDANGERED OZARK HELLBENDER

The Ozark Hellbender: THRIVE FOR LIFE

The Ozark Hellbender is a native species of the Ozarks, known for its endurance, longevity, and quiet strength. It survives where conditions remain stable over time.

GOTURSIX was founded by Veterans and Families who understand this principle firsthand.

Like the Hellbender, those who serve develop resilience shaped by experience, continuity, and commitment beyond themselves. The Hellbender represents the ability to remain steady, capable, and present over time.

GOTURSIX’s Hellbender Third Space

We named the Hellbender Third Space in honor of those who serve and the communities that support them. This Third Space exists outside of home and work—a place where Veterans, Families, and Neighbors come together through shared activity and participation.

Through visible contribution and consistent presence, communities strengthen their ability to support themselves.

This is how continuity develops.
This is how local capacity grows.
This is how communities thrive for life.

Whether you call it a mud devil, devil dog, ground puppy, snot otter…the Hellbender Salamander has the looks of a creature from hell where it’s bent on returning.
