Hellbender Third Space

Our “Third Space” is neither home nor work. It’s a place of belonging — where people come together to connect, create, and grow. In this space, neighbors lead neighbors through workshops, shared projects, and community gatherings that set the conditions for healing and growth.

What We Do

At GOTURSIX, the path forward is shaped by the strengths and passions of our community. Current neighbor-led workshops and activities include:

  • Woodworking & Creative Crafting — turning raw materials into something meaningful.

  • Sustainable Agriculture — gardens, poultry, and food justice initiatives that build local resilience.

  • Disc Golf Recreation — accessible play that brings people of all ages together outdoors.

  • Community Meals — sharing food and strengthening bonds around the table.

  • Neuroscience-Informed Coaching & On-Site Mental Health — practices that empower Veterans and families to thrive with PTSD.

  • Holistic Living — kombucha brewing, permaculture, and wellness activities that nurture balance.

Building a Stronger, More Connected Ozark Community

Our vision is simple: a thriving Ozarks where Veterans, families, and neighbors find purpose and belonging. To make this vision possible, we’re pursuing transformative funding opportunities, including:

  • Missouri Foundation for Health – Food Justice RFA (local food sovereignty & rural resilience)

  • EDA Public Works Grant (Hellbender Community Kitchen & Rural Resilience Hub)

  • Lululemon Community Wellbeing Grant (movement, mindfulness, and community access)

  • Missouri Arts Council Express Grant (creative arts workshops & oral histories)

Every application strengthens our resolve to build partnerships that honor our mission. Each grant fuels the work of creating spaces where neighbors help one another thrive for life.

VETERANS + FAMILIES + NEIGHBORS
THRIVE FOR LIFE

GOTURSIX, Inc. is a Missouri-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting Veterans, families, and neighbors reclaim agency and thrive. We believe that resilience isn’t found in isolation — it’s cultivated in community.

Mansfield, MO ~ October 5th and 6th

Our third space is named after the Ozark Hellbender — a rare, resilient giant salamander that only thrives in the clean, flowing waters of the Ozarks.
Like America’s Veterans, the Hellbender is a living symbol of survival against the odds.
